Manchester United had the perfect opportunity to close the gap on Liverpool and Arsenal on Wednesday night after both teams dropped points on Tuesday.The visit of Hull City on paper should have been a routine win for United. Hull City were bottom of the table before their trip to Old Trafford.Unfortunately for United and their fans, Hull managed to hold on for a 0-0 draw, frustrating the home fans and Mourinho’s side.The Red Devils dominated proceedings but a magnificent performance from Tigers goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic denied them at every opportunity.In the context of fighting for UEFA Champions League places it was a fairly disastrous result, especially as city rivals Manchester City above them in 5th managed to win away to West Ham.Regardless, Manchester United are actually on an incredible unbeaten run in the Premier League, as this stat from Squawka shows.

United’s Europe-leading performance is undoubtedly impressive but they need to start turning some of those draws into wins or risk falling behind even further in their quest for a Champions League position.
